Jane Abrams – Short Biography
A resident of the small New Mexican village of Los Ranchos for over forty years, Jane Abrams creates pulsing, colorful canvases. Her work is influenced by travels around the globe, as well as by the distinctive character of the central Rio Grande Valley.
Abrams has exhibited her work extensively, receiving recognition through numerous prestigious awards, including a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant and two senior National Endowment for the Arts grants. She has been honored with many artist-in-residencies, including the Tao Hua Tan International Artist Retreat in China in May 2019. Abrams is Regents’ Professor Emerita from the University of New Mexico. (100 Words)
