On the evening of February 24, the Richard Nixon Library held a grand ceremony to commemorate the 50th anniversary of President Richard Nixon’s visit to China. Dr. Henry Kissinger leads the memorial with a video message. Chinese ambassador to the United States Qin Gang, 24th Labor Secretary and 18th Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, former U.S. ambassador to China Stapleton Roy, and Chinese Consul General in Los Angeles delivered speeches. This is ambassador Qin Gang’s first visit to the west coast. More than 300 members of southern California’s chinese-american community attended the meeting.
