Karen Bass has become the first female mayor of Los Angeles, California, the second-largest city in the US, NBC reported Monday.
Karen, Ruth Bass (born October 3,1953) is an American politician and social worker who has served in California's thirty-seven congressional districts since 2011. The district served as a member of the California thirty-seven congressional district in her first term, which covers several districts south and west of the Downtown Los Angeles. She was a Democratic member of the California House of Representatives for six years and speaker for the last two. Busse was elected mayor of Los Angeles in 2022. |
